It’s always hot and humid in Kluang, with only minor variations in temperature throughout the year. You should pack for rain when visiting the area, especially if your trip falls in November, which is typically the wettest month.

If you visit during the month-long holiday of Ramadan, which appears at varying times depending on the year, you’ll find the town decorated in festive lights, and restaurants and markets featuring tasty halal delicacies. Bear in mind that members of the Muslim community fast from sun-up to sundown during Ramadan, making this the perfect time to immerse yourself in the night market culture.

Gunung Lambak

Among its abundant natural beauty, Kluang is home to Mount Gunung Lambak, which calls hikers to climb its 1,600-foot peak. Crossing marked trails and wooden bridges, you can complete the tour to the top in two to three hours. There are picnic spots and playgrounds nearby where you can rest afterwards.

The Bats of Downtown Kluang

Downtown Kluang is adorned with colorful street art murals and installations. The bright images depict a range of scenes related to the town’s political and ecological history, with lots of bats featured everywhere — a reference to the town’s name being derived from the Malay word “keluang,” which describes a fruit bat-like creature.
